Prying open my third eye.

The belief of the 'third eye', or pineal gland, has been slowly working itself into my system. I don't think I'm desperate to find a belief or something to fall back on because of my lack of religion, nor is it my infallible love for the band Tool, who has really brought on the belief of having and opening a third eye through their lyrics and media. The band is, however, where I first learned and got interested in it.

I find it mindblowing, that like most things, our body learned to adapt without our 'third eye'. Before we disable it's function, perse, we would breathe in two things: air and pr ana (atleast, according to most sources). Pr ana is a type of energy pouring from earth that was once inhaled in and processed through the pineal gland, giving the mind energy to feed off of, making us perceive things a certain way. Animals still use their glands. Nowadays, it's related to what one feels while on peyote or opium, and other illegal drugs causing hallucinations.

The gland sits dormant in our brains, but there have been proven ways of opening it. Most commonly, though drugs illegally, but also through meditation and brain exercises. Although I personally have not opened my third eye, I would like to take a stab at it. I'd rather do it the clean, legal way, so I'll work on the meditation exercises.

This summer, I'd like to get the third eye tattooed on the base of my neck. Believe it or not, it's really that important to me to have it scarred into my body for the rest of my life. I'm rather deep into it though, and I don't doubt any of it. Then, I'm going to Alex Grey's art gallery in New York (he's the artist who has done most of Tool's artwork)) where I will experience the best art and spiritual stuff. I'm excited.
